Heaven and Hell

Would heaven be hell for an unsaved person?  In our first memory verse, 2 Cor. 5:17 we learn that if any man is in Christ, new things have come...would heaven be hell for someone that has not been twice born, for someone that does not have a new nature, for someone that has not been born of the Spirit?

Joseph has been vindicated in Egypt and he soon will be vindicated among his family and we will learn that what his brothers intended for evil, God intended for good.  In Genesis 50:20 the scriptures contain some stunning words.  In Gen 50:20 it does not say that God turned and made a bad situation good or turned it for good, it says very clearly what "you intended for evil, God intended for good."  The exact same event, being sold into slavery.  God planned it, God orchestrated hearts and minds so that it would come to pass and still holds everyone responsible for their actions and is absolutely right in doing so.

Mt 13:37-45

37 Jesus replied, “The Son of Man is the farmer who plants the good seed. 38 The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one. 39 The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels.

40 “Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. 41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

44 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. 45 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls.

This picture of the end times may be terrifying if you are not a new creation, if you have not been crucified with Christ, if you have not been conformed to HIS image.  If there is nothing in you that views heaven, relationship with God through Jesus Christ, as a treasure then are you saved?  If you find no delight in seeking HIM and finding HIM in HIS Word can you be a new creation?  NOT PERFECT, not even close, just a desire, a tiny faith...the righteous man shall live by faith.

Who did Jesus acknowledge as those having a relationship with HIM?  Whoever does the will of MY Father in heaven.  Mt 12:50--For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven, that person is My brother and sister and mother.”

As you read Psalm 18 you get a sense of the terror, the majesty, the awe-striking glory.  What is your treasure?  Where do you spend your time, energy and money?  (I am asking myself these same questions)

In Psalm 139 David says, "if I descend into Sheol, You are there."  Sheol is the place of the dead!  HE IS THERE! HE is omnipresent!

Will heaven be hell for those out of relationship with God through Jesus Christ?

Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

Father in heaven apart from YOUR indwelling Spirit I am not able to hear or understand...please grant that like the disciples on the road to Emmaus that we would cry "did not our hearts burn within us as HE opened the scriptures to us."  Please Holy Spirit of God give us eyes to see and ears to hear, enable us to treasure YOU as we should, to long for YOU, to desire YOU...for you alone are worthy to be praised, worshiped and adored.

We love you, we love you, we love you...
